Skateboarding Mag Best Rookie Nominees

Transworld Skateboarding Magazine, one of the biggest skateboarding magazine has announced its coveted list of Best Rookie Nominees for 2011. These are the newest breed of skateboarders and thrashers that made an impact and impressed Transworld staff and the New Era Readers as well last year and in the coming days one of them will receive the coveted title of Rookie of the Year.

The first to make in the list of the nominees is Tom Asta who just turned into pro skating last March. Asta has been handpicked by skating legend and good friend Chris Cole and Jamie Thomas. He currently has a signatured board with Mystery and will be debuting his latest video with Mystery called “The Color Theory”. Asta is 21 years old and hails from Pennsylvania and also resides in California.

The next nominee is Ishod Wair, a light-speed skater from the East Coast, New Jersey to be specific and has just joined the pro skaters last December. Ishod Wair won a Maloof DC am contest and brought home the overall gold and $100,000 prize at the Maloof South Africa. Wair’s video was the breakout slow mo-laced Since Day One and was listed as the standout in the entire video.

The last nominee is Wes Kremer, the first to be pro skater among the list. Kremer is currently sponsored by SK8MAFIA, DC Clothing, DC Footwear, Royal Trucks, Spitfire and BSE. He is 22 years old and currently resides at California but he was born in Tokyo, Japan. He did a video with P-Kid for Sk8mafia released last year.

So who do you think will get the Best Rookie of The Year award? The winner will be announced during the Transworld Skateboarding Award this coming Feb. 16, 2012.
